CBT and Weight Loss
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Weight Loss
Cognitive Behavior Therapy, or CBT, can help to identification and more importantly, modify thinking patterns to maximise the prospect of losing weight and keeping it off.
The BellyBusters group can help you deal with the inevitable setbacks.
- Avoid the trap of certain thoughts, like “If it happened then, it will always happen again”, which can be dangerous when you face a setback.
- Maintain a balanced outlook to your weight loss, recognising that you are ALWAYS in control because you can balance what you take in (food) with what you put out, (exercise).
- Steer yourself into the MIDDLE of your natural either/or style thinking. Weight loss is not a case of either I’m eating perfectly or I’m hopeless, it really is a question of balancing your intake and your output in the LONG TERM, regardless of setbacks.
- Understand that the feeling that “I can’t cope with this” is simply a feeling, and that you CAN manage beyond that feeling. The BellyBusters group offers new ways of handling stress which do not involve turning to food for comfort.
