List of Tips for BellyBusting
This list is designed for you to pick and choose items from and not for all the tips to be used together!!!
- Get up and about and PLAY with your pets. Chasing them around gives you exercise and fun. It releases endorphins which make you feel good and make pain management easier.
- Limit your fat intake to 70 grams a day.
- Clean out one cupboard or drawer each day, live life lighter – get rid of clutter and see it as a symbolic sign that you’ll soon be clearing out clothes too big for you.
- Do it standing up and you burn more calories! That applies to anything so if you want to make it rude, so be it!
- Use dieting as an incentive to ASK for what you need. Assert yourself clearly and explain that your eating is about YOU and not anyone else. You don’t want large portions, you can’t eat that cake even if they made it especially and even if it is his birthday, you won’t break your diet.
- Play on the Nintendo Wii. It means moving about rather than sitting on the couch.
- Operate what’s known as Smart Substitution. If you crave chocolate, go for a chocolate spread sandwich rather than a chocolate bar. Eat fruit where possible if you crave something sweet and if your partner is eating chips or crisps, microwave some popcorn for yourself; it can be much more comforting eating warm popcorn than crisps anyway.
- Divide your waking hours by half and don’t eat carbohydrates in the second half of your day
- Have a cut-off point at night after which you won’t eat anything
- Drink one large glass of water every three hours and eat a handful of seeds or a banana at the same time.
- Measure your roundest parts. You might hate writing down those figures now, but when your new slimmer figure emerges, it will be a wonderful incentive to see how many centimetres have skedaddled.
- Have only fruit and yoghurt for breakfast. Add your own fruit to plain low fat yoghurt rather than eating prepared fruit yoghurts as they are full of preservatives.
- Chop food into tiny pieces. Not only will it take longer to eat, but it will also remind you to take BABY STEPS in BellyBusting.
- Brush your teeth after everything you eat, or chew gum. This will be a fresh symbolism that meal time is over. Gum or brushing will also give your mouth a nice fresh taste that you won’t want to spoil with a snack.
- If you’re eating at a restaurant that serves big portions, as the waiter to put half of your main course in a take away box before serving it.You won’t have to cook the next day, and you’ll spread your calories over two days nicely.
- Always go for grilled options on the menu and take fish rather than meat meals where possible. This is also great for your brain chemistry!
- Add a new fruit or vegetable to your diet each day or try alternating 7 different fruits and vegetables over the course of the week.
- Hunger is not harmful. Practice restraint by leaving a small amount on your plate all the time and/or use smaller plates.
- Weigh your portions just one day a week, every week. This way you will be more efficient at estimating weights and measures for the rest of the week.
- Buy three weight loss supplements from a health food store and test each one for a full month. See which was better and use that. Write reviews for each one and share them with us!
