If you don't lose weight, you still win
Every time you lose weight, even if you put more back on again, you have the opportunity to identify what you did right, and what you did wrong. It sounds very simple to do more of what you did right, but many people focus on what they did wrong, become despondent and give up.
As a group, our first responsibility is to help each other to NOT give up. We keep going, even on those hungry days or days when we gain weight even though we feel we ate well within our quota.
By setting GOALS for ourselves and helping each other to keep the goal in sight, we achieve results. And even those who don’t achieve results are welcome. Some people need time, just to settle in and discuss their eating habits before they really start to lose, and that’s ok. We accept each other as we ARE.
It can help to have a role model who is very slim and eats healthily. We are aiming to have a healthy relationship with food rather than obsessing about calorie counting. We want to be able to eat with zest, even if it is usually lemon zest.
